Grandma Camp

So while this has nothing to do with building the cabin, I thought I'd let you know what we've been doing while we wait for the building permit. This past weekend we held the first annual Webster Grandkids "Gramda Camp". The six oldest grandkids came to grandma and grandpa's house on Friday afternoon. We had a great time with no parents allowed. (Zac made sure his mom and dad knew that when they stopped by for a minute on Friday night!) We played on the slip-n-slide, made ant farms, went hiking and fishing - and that was all in the first afternoon!

I thought that we would take advantage of having two great grandma's close and so Grandma Hummer, with Grandpa Jer's help, came and told us that when she was a little girl, she liked to make play guns out of wood and tire innertubes. They helped us make these and the kids all had fun shooting rubber "bullets" at everyone. Grandma Nellie came and showed us how to make taffy. It was really hot, and by the time it cooled down so we could pull it, it was hard! Oh well, it tasted good. (Grandma RaNel didn't get pictures of the taffy pulling because she left her camera outside and the sprinklers cleaned the mountain dirt off of it for her!!)

We had a great time and when the kids all left they were asking when the next Grandma Camp would be. I think that the parents even enjoyed Grandma Camp in their quiet houses! Maybe next year Grandma Camp can be at the cabin!!

Kaylie, Zac, Ethan, Isaac, Trevin and Brancen waiting for the fire to die down so they could roast marshmallows. Grandma is already thinking what we'll do for next year!

How fun! Can I come to Grandma Camp? Or maybe you should have a seperate camp called Auntie Camp and invite all of us nieces and Nephews! That would be fun!

You're such good grandparents, I love it! Wanna add Clara to the mix next year?
